I think only 2 weeks. Do you think it is enough time the voting public would know who the candidates are giving into consideration that publicmeeting newspaper, TV and radio is prohibited?
PR

Questions from Rashida Mukhtar (
rmukh@yahoo.com)
I am very happy that the Kingdom is taking a step in the right direction by holding municipal elections.
I know we are living in the 21st century & being an emancipated woman myself, would love to see that Saudi women are given the right to vote. But I am happy that the elections are being held in the first place.
Women in the West were only granted the right to vote in the late 1930?s so I do not agree with all the fuss that is being made here about women not having the right to vote. This itself is a gradual process and I am sure they will very soon have that right.
PRINCE: Women are not allowed to vote in this election, because of the short period of time to prepare the election and lack of necessary logistic requirements and skilled women. But we hope the next election after four years will include all elements of Saudi society.
The northwest of Jeddah (west of Madinah road and onwards) seem only to be having good roads & amenities while south Jeddah & east of Madinah road seem to be neglected.
If one were to go to downtown Balad?it?s a sore sight to see the state of roads, no water, no garbage disposal to name a few.
Why are there no parks in residential areas. There seem to be only concrete jungles. Children need to play in safe environments and not on the roads where there is no proper driving ethics. Every area should have a park within 10 mins walking distance.
There is a park recently made on Malek road (where Tahlia street begins). It is right in the middle of a main road and it has no fences .. how do you expect little children to be playing in such a park & there be no accidents .. its appalling.
These are just a few of my questions .. hoping that you will take them up in your discussions.
PRINCE: Now our duty as a committee and myself as the chairman of the general committee for the Municipality election in Saudi Arabia, to prepare and fulfill the all requirements and to supervise the implementation of the election process.
Questions Received from Rajaa Mohamed (njood
2000@yahoo.com)
Since today will be the last day for all questions that should be sent to Prince Mansur,
I would like to ask him if we as (Eastern Province) women (Who would like to elect themselves) would like to meet with him for some important issues regarding the elections for women, is it ok with him or no??
As far as I know it is women?s right to meet and discuss with him their right to practice this in Eastern Province since still there is time for election in Eastern Province.

Second:
It is so important for women to participate since they have different beauty touch and different point of view, I think their standing besides men will complete the circle and the equality will be done and accomplished 100% instead of 50%.
THANKS FOR FIRST: HIS KINDNESS TO ANSWER ME AND SECOND: TO ALLOW US TO MEET HIM AT HIS CONVENIENCE?
PRINCE: Women are not allowed to vote in this election, because of the short period of time to prepare the election and lack of necessary logistic requirements and skilled women. But we hope the next election after four years will include all elements of Saudi society.
